Just returned from a 4 day weekend in Atlanta, GA at the Scrapbook Expo event at Gwinnett Center. So much fun!  Early mornings and late nights, lots of cropping, classes, raffles, door prizes and of course.....SHOPPING!!!!!!  The vendors always bring it each year and this year was no exception.

I met some new friends and reconnected with my scrapbooking friends I've met at other crops.  Lesson learned = I took too much stuff with me and didn't use but about 1/3 of it.  I shopped and visited much more than anticipated and did not scrap nearly as much as I'd planned to.  Next year, I will take only tools and various adhesives and plan to work on the new products/ papers/kits I purchase at the event.

One thing I must say is that for over 365 women (and a few men, believe it or not) to spend 4 days together, everyone was so friendly and polite.  I only saw one incident of less that complimentary behavior and it was between a vendor and his son, not an attendee.  Its a wonderful homage to the human spirit to know they are so kind to each other in this setting.

Here's my one and only picture of the event, taken by my new friend, Kay G.  She's the blond on the left.  Pam  L.,seated, is one of my first and best scrapping buddies I met in Alabama.  We've attended retreats together for almost 10 years now with 2 other close friends, Gladys W. and Kay W. who were not able to attend this expo.

Yes, I am exhausted and sore from walking about in the vendor room and staying up late, but it was so worth it to leave life behind for awhile.  No computer, no phone (well texting doesn't count, does it?), no housework, cooking, cleaning or any of life's normal responsibilities.

If you have the opportunity to attend a Scrapbook Expo event, I recommend you go.  To check out their website, go to www.scrapbookexpo.com, You will see all the classes and examples of what you will be making in each one of them.

I only took one class called Home Sweet Home.  It was a Graphic 45 inspired cookbook with a vintage theme. It was a chipboard album with various size pages and places to write-in your recipes.  The front cover had an inset attachment also for recipes.  So sweet and homespun in nature.

Better run, its time to catch a little shut-eye and recuperate from vaca.

God Bless,

Debra
